Structures in the dashboard presented a risk of injury to the knees and femurs of the driver and passenger. The Cube scored maximum points for its performance in the side barrier test. In the more sever side pole impact, the dummy’s ribs deflections indicated marginal protection of the chest but other body regions were well protected. Marginal protection was provided against whiplash injuries in a rear-end collision. Child occupant In the frontal impact, the head of the 3 year dummy, sat in a forward-facing restraint, exceeded recommended limits, exposing the head to possible contact with the car’s interior. However, in the side barrier impact, both the 3 year and the 18 month dummies were properly contained by their restraints. The passenger airbag can be disabled to allow a rearward facing child restraint to be used in that seating position. However, information provided to the driver regarding the status of the airbag is not sufficietntly clear. Pedestrian The bumper scored …

Question by Lukas: Who Is Liable For My Car Crash Damage Repair Payment?
I live in Ireland and for the past 3 days my next door neighbour, who is an elderly widower and who I have never ever had a problem with before, has been having a driveway laid in his front yard.

The workmen have been leaving their vans in front of my driveway denying me exit of my driveway via car but they have always been polite and moved out of the way when I need to get out.

This morning, they had hired an independant concrete delivery man (Roadsure I think they are called), to deliver the cement to pave the drive.

He was in a large cement truck and was parked diagonally across the entire road, making it extremely difficult for me to reverse my car. He couldn’t move the truck out of the way as it was dropping cement and I needed to get my baby to a doctors apoointment.

So I figured a several point turn would get me out in one piece but it didn’t, I reversed and hit our gatepost wall, it only caused slight damage to the drivers side front wing – some major scratches and a dent where it hit the wall but the light is ok etc.

I eventually got the car out of the driveway, the guy who owned the truck asked if there was damage and when I said yes he simply replied with “at least it wasn’t your foot” to which I replied “how the hell could I drive over my own foot you fool?”.

Anyway, I went to a local crash repair centre and they quoted €450 to fix the damage caused. I may just leave it but I haven’t decided yet. What I want to know is, who is liable for the damage, me? My neighbour, or the company who delivered the cement, Roadsure?

Before anyone remarks with a smart comment like learn to drive like a man not a woman I would like to point out that this is my first piece of damage to any of my cars in almost 20 years of driving!

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
Just to add here – I probably won’t bother getting it repaired so I’d appreciate the smartass answers thanks – I just wanted some sensible opinions, should have expected these types of answers from the people on here really!

A new research model, developed by Volvo Cars, uses real accident reports to predict the chain of events that occur before and during a collision. After investigating more than 36000 accidents over a 35-year span, the Volvo Cars accident research team can predict the consequences of the collision, as well as what initially led to the accident. Studying this chain of events helps Volvo Cars develop effective car safety systems to reduce accidents and the risk of serious injuries.
I was pulled over, arrested, lost my job and my car was towed to an auto body shop who is now trying to charge me 1,500 dollars for almost 3 weeks of storage. The tow and original fee only added up to about 200 dollars, I could of borrowed that but now with storage its out of the question. Does anyone know any other way to get my car out?

Donnie-smith.com The front end parts were already removed when we bought the car. I will have to find and replace those parts when we start putting the car back together. Next, we removed the front fenders. As we mention in the video, one of the most important steps is keeping your hardware and parts organized. Whether you are going to have a car tore apart for a few weeks or a few years, this will make the reinstallation much easier. One way to do this is to get some zip lock bags and label one for each panel that you remove. Put all the hardware and small parts into the bag and label the bag accordingly. Another way is to screw the bolts back into the bolt hole after the part has been removed. This work well, but may get in the way when working or painting the parts. Whatever method you choose, just make sure everything will be easy to lay out and put back together when the time comes. You may have to remove adjacent parts to get to the part you are wanting to remove. On the mustang, we had to remove the rocker panel molding, to give us full access to the fender. Once the molding was removed, we removed the right front fender by using a 1 socket, 1/2 wrench, phillips screw driver, and the bags and marker to properly store the hardware. Tips: Some of my students have been confused which is the right side and the left side of the vehicle. The way you determine which side is which is to sit in the vehicle. When sitting in the car, youll notice your right hand is your …

Gripping account by Richard Hammond of life before and after his terrifying high-speed car crash. To find out more… www.orionbooks.co.uk Richard Hammond is one of our most in-demand and best-loved television presenters. On September 20, 2006, he suffered a serious brain injury following a high-speed car crash, and the nation held its breath. On the Edge is his compelling account of life before and after the accident and an honest description of his year of recovery, full of drama and incident. It is also, perhaps, his explanation of why, as a married man and father of two young daughters, he was prepared to risk all by strapping himself to the front of a jet engine with the power of eleven Formula One cars. A daredevil and a petrolhead long before his association with Top Gear, Richard tells the story of his life as an adrenalin junkie, from the small boy showing off with ridiculous stunts on his bicycle to the adolescent with a near-obsessive attraction to speed and the smell of petrol. After a series of jobs in local radio, he graduated to television and eventually to Top Gear, one of the world’s most popular shows, upgrading his car with each step up the ladder. His insights into the personalities, the camaraderie and, of course, the stunts for which Top Gear has become famous make compulsive reading. Richard Hammond is internationally famous for co-presenting Top Gear over the last 4 years with Jeremy Clarkson; he also presented Brainiac: Science Abuse on Sky 1 …

Question by Juan D: what can I buy to keep my car craft magazines in good condition?
I have some from 2 years back and I want to start collecting them, some of them have some bent edges and others have the middle sheet come off.

If you know how to repair that would be awesome too

Best answer:

Answer by NOSSLP
you can carefully iron any wrinkled pages.
To keep them in good shape for years to come, you can get a food saver, and vacuum pack them. This will keep them in good shape for excellent condition collectors items in years from now.

i have an 83 firebird that needs dents pulled, to be buffed and pianted… do you think my autobdy repair co-op would let me work on it for free or at least less than what a real paint job and everything costs? lol

Best answer:

Answer by Phil
More than likely. most of them do, mainly because they know that if you are trying to fix your own stuff, you are more likely to pay attention and do things right the first time. also, it would be a lot cheaper. most of the time, they just charge you materials. thats about it.
