Question by billionaiire: Painting tips for car doors?
My car was hit on passenger side doors. Yes there is a significant dent on the rear door and a medium dent on the front door. The car is 10 year old. The insurance company found me at fault for some reason but paid me some 1400 dollars to get the thing fixed.

I personally believe that only a good paint job (since I am not too keen on building a good deal to sell the car) should make the car look much much better and would make me feel better and I can then forget about the dents on the piece of metal.

I am looking for tips. I am looking to do it at home (just as an experiment). It is a white 1998 Honda Civic. Any suggestions/websites that describe it and links to shops that sell paints/spray cans for cheap? or do we get a car paint kit (do it at home kind) somewhere? Please help me on this one. Thank you.

Best answer:

Answer by R1volta
The dents will look worse with new paint. Get used doors at a junk yard and then paint it. It may be possible to take the dent out.
Bring it to Maaco and get a 0 special and get rid of the car.

What do you think? Answer below!

Question by Whyyyy Sooo Serioussss-A!: My Paint on my Jaguar has “Dried out,” is there ANYTHING i can do to Protect it?
.. and MAYBE even bring back a Shine?

Its hard to describe. You could call it “Faded” (though its not really faded, it has its color, Dark Grey,) its just really “Dry” and looks “Cracked” if you look at it up close… KIND of feels like Sandpaper, but this is the best way i can describe it.

Interestingly enough, behind both front tires, in front of the Doors, it is still “Shiny.”

I will provide a pic to the Album.. but what is “Buffalo Milk,” and im going to give the car a good GENTLE Wash (i dont wanna blow anty Paint off with too strong a pressure-washer, and im gonan try to “Soak” the paint with Water, not “Blast it off” like a car that has nice Waxed Sealed Polished Paint..)

If you look at these photos, what would i be able to do in my Driveway with a Hose, and what “Cloths” should i buy, and how long does it take before the Cloths are completely Dirty and saturated with dirt and/or debris and/or water when applying “Products?”

Most Saveable is the Chrome. The Chrome is Perfect, and presently has FINGERPRINTS (!!!) on it, and the SUN is shining on it and I WANT TO GET THAT OFF THIS WEEK, its not SUMMER yet its still 50 in the Mornings..

*SEE ADDITIONAL DETAILS FOR PIC LINKS… STUPID YAHOO*

And yes the pics of the CAR are in the Album too..

Thank you!

(Basically: What Finish Products can i buy at Wal-Mart, from Waxes to Sealers to Polishers to “Nu-Finish” to “Buffalo Milk” i dont know what that is, to retain my 1985 Jaguar’s Condition?)
here is the album PICTURE ALBUM tinyurl.com/y8ut8fs

www.LearnAutoBodyandPaint.com Tony has been doing auto body work and custom painting from the young age of 13 years old. From painting mopeds to motorcycles and even cars at 15. Professional auto body shops would call tony if they needed help just to paint a car. Tony would go to the shops with a mask and a gun and just ‘come to paint’ about 90 minutes later tony would go home with 0 – 0 just to paint a car. He would do 4-5 cars per week at the age of 15. Tony has created a whole step-by-step e Book and training guide for the beginner so they can easily and quickly get started from home while learning the most advanced tactics in today’s auto body and painting world.
