Just asking for a friend, he had a car crash, car was repaired in october. Its in a maryland repair shop, but the insurance wont cover for the full damage costs, so he has to pay up the rest. How long will it have to sit in there until it becomes their property?

The shop could begin the process of obtaining a mechanics lean 30 days after the repair fees have not been paid.
